About Us

PFT: The MotorGlider Club is run by Chief Flying Instructor, Clive Stainer. Clive first started flying in 1972 as a glider pilot, and in 1984 obtained his gliding Instructor rating; since then, Clive has some 1500hrs in gliders.

In 1982, Clive obtained his PPL at Leeds / Bradford Airport and in 1995, embarked on his new profession which would lead him to PFT: The MotorGlider Club.

To date, Clive has now logged over 4000 hours in motor gliders and power aircraft, and is a licensed instructor and examiner for both types.

Our Location

PFT: The MotorGlider Club operates out of Hinton-in-the-Hedges airfield, Northamptonshire. The airfield is made up of several runways, one of which is tarmac. It consists of several well-drained short-mown grass runways which are oriented: 06/24, 09/27 and 15/33. It is situated 1.5 miles (2.4 km) from the A422, and has easy access from Milton Keynes, Bicester, London, Birmingham and Brackley.

Cessna 150 Cessna 150 A highly successful training aircraft, with an excellent safety record. Ideal for training due to its simplicity and has a high-wing providing good visibility.
MotorGlider T-61F MotorGlider The T61F or 'Venture' as it is more commonly known is an ex-RAF trainer. It is excellent for training and is a favourite with students.
